FINkit People Series: Tom Sampson

Location:

In this ongoing quickfire ‘behind the scenes’ series, we meet FINkit people from across the business, giving you a flavour of who we are and what we do.

Tom Sampson is a Product Owner at FINkit in our London office.

Thanks for joining us today Tom! It’s the usual 5 questions so that people can get to know more you. Let’s go …

1. In a nutshell, what’s an average day for you?

My day always starts with a large coffee before I move on to the daily scrums, talking to my development teams based in Cardiff and London. Outside of the Scrum ceremonies, my days are never average and that is what I love most about the job.

2. What’s the best thing about FINkit?

It truly is a unique proposition, combining a development platform with secure infrastructure to enable banks and FIs to innovate safely and compliantly, ensuring they can continue to meet the ever changing expectations of consumers in this new digital age.

3. What makes you want to come to work every day?

I love the challenge and energy that FINkit provides, getting to work with an incredible group of people from all facets of the business to drive forward the product roadmap making FINkit a little bit better every day.

4. Why are we different to anyone else?

I have never worked in a company that combines the very best in the industry with a huge amount of experience in a number of fields. There is nobody better places to provide a platform such as FINkit, based on sound technical foundations backed up by a detailed understanding of Fintech and financial services in general.

5. What’s your go-to downtime activity?

I enjoy playing the piano or reading for some quiet time, otherwise I am a massive gamer. I am into just about any sport one could imagine and can happily spend my weekends watching as much as possible. Most of all however I am an ardent Northampton Town fan and season ticket holder and will spend my weekends at Sixfields, cheering on the mighty Cobblers.
