Key Duties and Responsibilities

Development of internal and customer facing apps and services inline with RBS group requirements.  You’ll provide input on costing, scope, platform specific capabilities and direction for the multiple projects that are developed.  

As a Senior developer will also be required to provide guidance and technical assistance at times to the rest of the team, performing code reviews and keeping the designers and development on track.  

While you will based onsite at RBS in Edinburgh City Centre, you will be expected to travel from time to time to our/RBS locations for meetings, training, or during critical work streams.

Education and Qualifications

Ideally degree qualified in a numerate discipline (or equivalent experience

Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional knowledge of Objective-C and iOS libraries (iOS 4.3 and up)

• A solid understanding of Object Oriented and asynchronous programming techniques

• Experience implementing common design patterns and working in an Agile work environment 

• A good working knowledge of consuming RESTful services, XML, and JSON

• Awareness of the limitations, quirks and best practices with the iOS platform

• Excited by working to tight deadlines with bleeding edge technology

• Experience working with bug management and source control systems

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

It would also be great if you had experience developing for other mobile technologies (e.g. Android, Blackberry) Mobile web, RESTful API definition and integration
