Alastair has a proven track record of turning visions and concepts into real businesses. He founded Monitise in 2003. Three years later, Monitise was recognised as a ‘Technology Pioneer’ by the World Economic Forum and in June 2007 Alastair led the company’s demerger from Morse and listing on the LSE's AIM market.
In January 2014, Alastair was appointed as a Business Ambassador for the financial services industry by the UK Government. He was named Non-Executive Chairman of fintech industry body, Innovate Finance, at its launch in August 2014. Alastair was awarded a CBE for services to mobile banking and charity in June 2014, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2011 Growing Business Awards.
Prior to conceiving, financing and successfully building Monitise, Alastair was a co-founder of epolitix.com, the portal for Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved institutions. Alastair leads key relationships with partners, industry stakeholders and major shareholders, plus corporate development for the global Monitise business.
Elizabeth Buse joined Monitise in June 2014 as co-CEO, responsible for the company's operations, including sales, marketing, product, technology, finance and administrative functions. Prior to Monitise, Elizabeth spent 16 years at Visa Inc, most recently as Global Executive, Solutions, responsible for the company's merchant relationships, ecommerce, mobile and processing products. Before that, she spent three years in Singapore, running Visa's business in Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa. She also held roles as Visa’s Global Head of Product; Executive Vice President of Product Development and Management; and Executive Vice President of Emerging Markets & Technologies, leading all aspects of product strategy, development and growth.
Prior to joining Visa in 1998, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Electronic Funds Division of First Data Corp. Elizabeth also serves as a Director of Travelport, a leading travel commerce platform listed on NYSE, and was a Director of Artio Global Investors Inc. from September 2009 to January 2013.
Lee is Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer at Monitise and has been a member of the group’s Board since 2008. He is responsible for Monitise's legal and commercial activities and oversees the company's corporate development and M&A strategy. Lee has been associated with Monitise since its foundation and joined as a full-time employee in 2006 as General Counsel.
Called to the Bar in 1998, Lee later transferred to become a solicitor and was Legal Director at Morse plc, a FTSE 250 technology company, prior to joining Monitise. With extensive global experience in managing commercial and corporate cross-border transactions, Lee ensures Monitise continues to maximise the value of its Mobile Money network to the benefit of all participants.
Brad joined Monitise as Chief Financial Officer in 2013. He previously worked at TelecityGroup plc, a FTSE 250 company, where he was the Group’s Financial Controller. At Telecity Brad supported the business through its Main Market listing on LSE and was responsible for the Group’s reporting, planning, policies, risk and control.
Prior to Telecity Brad held senior finance roles at Create Services, an online credit card provider and part of Lloyds Banking Group, and other technology companies. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Mike is responsible for Monitise’s business in the Americas. He joined Monitise in August 2014 to oversee all sales activity and major accounts spanning the US, Canada and Latin America. Prior to Monitise, Mike was Chief Information Officer, Global Head of Technology at Visa Inc.
Before that, Mike was CIO of Inovant, where he oversaw the development and management of Visa’s global systems technology. He also held executive positions at VISA USA as Senior Vice President of processing and emerging products, and Senior Vice President of commercial solutions. Mike has been on the Board of Directors of F5 Networks (NASDAQ) an application delivery network (ADN) and security technology company since October 2012.
Prior to that, Mike held senior roles at American Express, Prime Financial, Inc., Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Downey Savings, Bank of America, and the Fairmont Hotel Management Company.
Peter has overall responsibility for Monitise’s activity within Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. He is also a Board Director of Movida, Monitise’s joint venture with Visa Inc. in India.
He has held senior executive positions in four FTSE 100 and Fortune 250 bank and IT companies. Peter's entrepreneurial responsibilities have covered global and regional territories, with a period of two years in Hong Kong as MD First Data Asia Pacific.
Peter has been involved with the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the London Business School for the past ten years, and is a former President of its Enterprise 100 which is the business group investing in and mentoring the MBA students and School alumni.
As a highly recognised figure in the technology industry, Alistair Crane has spent over 10 years working with leading brands such as Procter & Gamble, Adidas & LVMH, Samsung and RBS Group, on mobile strategy, innovation and development.
In 2010, Alistair founded Grapple Mobile, a mobile innovation studio. In 2014 he oversaw the acquisition of Grapple by Monitise.
Recently, Alistair relocated to San Francisco to become President, Content for Monitise Group. He now oversees several divisions within the Group including Monitise Create – the Monitise innovation hub, Monitise Content – formed through the acquisition of Markco Media, and sales for the Monitise Americas business.
Rene joined Monitise in February, 2015. Previously, he was based at Visa Inc. for ten years, where he held various executive roles. These included leading Visa’s implementation for the Apple Pay digital payment service and Visa’s Token Services, integrating Fundamo - the South African-based mobile payment provider, and overseeing sales, marketing, product development technology, communications and innovation.
Rene also spent four years in Singapore overseeing mobile product strategy and offerings, sales development and client engagement programs. Prior to his work at Visa, Rene spent 10 years at the Palo Alto-based management consultancy Strategic Decisions Group developing business strategies for both start-ups and multi-billion dollar companies.
Graham has global responsibility for Commercial, HR, Property and Customer Satisfaction. With a strong focus on driving business change, these areas of the Group are delivering strategic programmes which enable adoption of our new business model.
Graham joined Monitise in 2011, became Group Commercial Director in 2012 and was appointed Chief People & Business Officer in 2014.
Prior to joining Monitise, Graham had a successful career selling IT outsourced services to large corporates and latterly as Commercial Director, Managed Services, Computacenter.
Will is responsible for Monitise’s strategic accounts in Europe and for new business and operations throughout the EMEA and AP region. He previously held the position in Monitise of managing the Group’s relationship with RBS Group. He has over 20 years' experience in Financial Services roles including exec positions within Retail, Private and Wealth management. He was on the executive team that launched Egg, the UK’s first internet bank, and followed that up with Programme Director and COO roles at Egg Invest and Funds Direct respectively.
Following two years external consulting with M&S Money and Santander, Will was accountable for setting up and running an innovation function within RBS Retail, followed by a spell implementing the Bank’s Retail Transformation Programme.
Tom is Company Secretary of Monitise and brings over 15 years of financial management experience, including audit, financial planning and controllership, gained over several industries.
A Cambridge graduate and Chartered Accountant, Tom trained with Price Waterhouse. Prior to joining Monitise, Tom spent five years as UK Finance Director of IT services and technology company Morse.
